About the role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to manage and oversee our financial operations. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of our financial records and in supporting our strategic financial planning. The positions will be reporting to our Senior Accountant/Head of Finance. The duties will include but are not limited to:

Prepare periodic (weekly/monthly/quarterly) financial reports (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow) to track performance.

Assisting in preparation of company budget for future planning and comparing projected budget with actual budget to ensure we stay on track.

Reviewing cash flow statements, providing early notices of any problems as cost over-runs, excessive charges, and potential penalties while maintaining internal control systems.

Creation and distribution of monthly reports detailing operating costs, income & expenditure breakdown & analysis.

Preparation of Actual Vs Budgeted results and sales summaries along with supporting documents for management review.

Prepare and reconcile profit and loss, balance sheet and other financial reports including preparation and posting of any necessary adjusting journals.

Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions (accounts payable and receivable) are recorded with periodic reconciliation and settlement.

Manage payroll entries and ensure compliance by reviewing weekly payrolls, employee benefits, leave provisions accurately and on a timely basis including tax allocation for PAYG.

Managing and protecting the financial information and records of the company. Also advising on the accounting software whenever required.

Maintain financial security through internal controls.

About the applicant

Tertiary qualifications, preferably in accounting or commerce or demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge, and skills.

At least two years of experience in the company accounting.

Extensive analytical skills and accounting knowledge with excellent attention to details.

Knowledge in Xero, MYOB or similar accounting software.

Strong numerical, organizational, and PC skills (including Microsoft Excel).

Ability to prioritize and work effectively within a team as well as individual.

Type- Full time, Permanent

Salary- AUD 75,000 to AUD 90,000 per year plus superannuation
