Production Planning & Purchasing Assistant

Are you a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a knack for juggling production schedules, purchasing, and inventory management? We are currently supporting our client across the food & beverage sector to find a highly motivated Production Planning & Purchasing Assistant to join their busy facility.

Reporting into the Production Planner, this is a pivotal role supporting the smooth and efficient flow of goods from procurement through to production, ensuring their customers receive quality products on time, every time.

Key aspects of the role

Assist with the development of production schedules based on sales forecasts and inventory levels

Collaborate with production, warehouse, and QA teams to execute and adjust production plans

Source and purchase raw materials, ingredients, and packaging in line with production requirements

Maintain accurate ERP/MRP data (SAP or similar), lead times, and stock levels

Support inventory management including cycle counts and stock reconciliations

Analyse reports and KPIs to support process improvements and cost efficiencies

Ideal Background & Experience

Experience in production planning or procurement within a manufacturing environment

Strong organisational and analytical skills

Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Pronto, etc.)

FMCG or food manufacturing experience (desirable)

Familiarity with GMP, HACCP or food safety standards (a plus)
