The Vasse Tavern, located in the busy coastal tourist town of Busselton , Western Australia, is an award winning boutique pub which specialises in typical Australian pub food, pizza, pastas and seafood.
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, dynamic, talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our excellent kitchen team. We ideally would like an experienced Sous Chef or a chef who believes they are ready to step up to this position.
Reporting to our Head Chef, you will be second in charge in the kitchen and responsibilities will include:
Assist with service preparation, ensuring all relevant food is prepared for service
Producing high quality plates both taste and presentation wise
Ensure meals are coming out in a timely manner
Monitor and record inventory, if necessary order new supplies
Provide support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation and dish plating
Supervising all kitchen staff
Training of new kitchen employees to meet standards
In the head chefs absence delegation of staff to ensure you re playing to your teams strengths
WHS adhering to and implement sanitation and safety regulations
Ordering: Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment
