About your new role
As the Senior Workforce Program Officer, based in Bundall – Gold Coast, you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation and management of comprehensive workforce, talent and people programs and initiatives that align to City strategies and operational plans. The bespoke programs are developed to drive enhanced employee engagement and organisational performance.
This is a high-impact role where your expertise will influence city-wide initiatives, elevate employee engagement, and cultivate a high-performing, future-ready culture. You’ll work closely with senior executives and cross-functional teams to craft innovative, evidence-based programs that position the City of Gold Coast as an employer of choice – locally and nationally.
As a key member of our Workforce and Talent management team, you’ll operate with autonomy, act as a trusted advisor on workforce strategy, and drive continuous improvement through research, insights, and recommendations. What you’ll be responsible for:
• Design and deliver tailored workforce programs that align with organisational goals to support long-term talent engagement.
• Manage end-to-end workforce program projects, from concept development and stakeholder consultation through to successful implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
• Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across all workforce initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align workforce programs with organisational priorities, support strategic initiatives, and drive engagement across the City.
• Provide education and guidance to support alignment with HR frameworks and programs.
• Contribute to broader Chief People Office strategies and initiatives as required.
• Critically analyse workforce data and employee feedback to generate insights and inform strategic decision-making.
• Develop reports, briefing notes, presentations and communication plans to support program transparency, stakeholder engagement, and strategic alignment.
• Monitor budgets and manage resources effectively to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of programs.
We're looking for people who have:
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing workforce projects and initiatives, with a strong drive to make a difference and lead positive change.
• Broad generalist HR experience, with a proven track record of contributing to the successful delivery of people-related projects.
• A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on enhancing workforce programs, initiatives, and processes.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to align workforce strategies to organisational goals and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, collaborate effectively, and engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) or 5+ years equivalent knowledge and experience.
