The Welcome Inn Thirlmere is seeking an experienced Licensee/General Manager
The successful applicant will manage all departments of the hotel - beverage, food, and gaming. You are required to be a leader with the ability to develop staff and a good team culture. You are required to create a welcoming and friendly environment for staff and patrons. You will be the face of the business, accountable for ensuring the hotel is integrated into the local community.
The successful Licensee GM candidate
A good communicator who is honest and professional
Ability to work well with senior management
Willing to lead their team from the front line
A keen eye for detail and great organisational skills are a must
Implementing effective marketing strategies to attract and retain customers
Manage all operations, including daily and weekly financial reporting
Work within performance budgets for both revenue and expenses
Manage and maintain the venue's compliance with OLGR, NSW Health, Liquor Accord and NSW police
Work with managers to ensure venue maintenance, ordering (budgets), stock takes, and POS system are maintained & accurate on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
Training staff on expected procedures, customer service, & product knowledge
Personal attributes:
A Licensee who can build on the existing foundations and continue the evolution of the hotel. You will have a hands-on operational approach and possess the following skills/attributes:
Maintain & create a welcoming Local Pub Vibe based on community engagement, great customer experience
Great people manager, with effective leadership, communication, and organisational skills
A strong work ethic, hands-on attitude, and someone who leads by example
Strong background in ‘Community’ style pubs with gaming, bar, and food
Have a good knowledge and understanding of POS systems
Sound financial and business acumen with demonstrated understanding of relevant KPI's (revenue, GP, labour margins, etc.), business systems, and stock controls
