About the role
The Practice Support Engagement Officer will work as part of Practice Support team and is responsible for engaging with and supporting Primary Health Care Providers in a range of PHN activities aimed to support locally relevant, effective, and efficient health care services for the population.
The role will be responsible for delivering initiatives aimed to supporting general practice businesses meet current standards, adapt to changing priorities, maintain awareness of best practice principles across the primary health care sector, including for integrated care, digital health, opportunities for partnerships, networking, clinical and non-clinical team development, models of care, and as sought by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.
The position will utilise practice visit and virtual support model which is based on best practice customer relations management principles working in-line with the on-demand support model and planned engagement strategies. Each PSEO will provide generalist support to the healthcare providers including around their area of interest.
The Practice Support Engagement team assists the strategic objectives of the PHN by supporting Primary Health Care Providers to improve equitable access to high quality health care for all people in our communities.
The successful candidate will have:
- Advanced interpersonal and relationship management skills including a positive attitude, emotional intelligence, collaboration, decision making, networking, motivation, teamwork, collaboration, negotiation
- High level of organisational skills
- Understanding of primary health care and current health care trends and community issues in the Australian context

Additional Information
*PHN's have been funded by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing. since 2015. All roles at our PHN are maximum-term and linked to our funding contracts with the Department of Health. This is a maximum term contract until 25 September 2026 and any contract extensions are dependent on ongoing funding.
**Salary: This role is classified as Grade F – J within our Enterprise Agreement and the rate will be dependent on skills and experience/qualifications. New appointments are generally between grade F-H.
