The Role

As the APS 5 Base Support Officer you will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure essential services are delivered and that our Defence Bases and office environments are maintained to a high standard. You will design and recommend solutions, recommending appropriate management strategies to whole-of-base operational and service delivery issues.

Duties Include:

  • Accountable to assist with the development and planning of assigned activities of estate management and maintenance programs.
  • Develop plans and programs for all Work Health Safety, Security and Emergency Management.
  • Provide advice and guidance on service delivery products to ensure our customers and stakeholders meet operational needs.
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities.
  • Liaise with stakeholders in relation to base management issues.
  • Interpret and comply with policy, regulations, guidelines, instructions and procedures in relation to base management and estate planning and development.

About our Team

The APS 5 Base Support Officer regularly engages with stakeholders and customers, responding to escalated issues, communicating base-wide messages, assisting in the design and development of base plans, coordinating base activities and proactively seeking opportunities to improve customer experience.

You will have the ability to quickly develop a sound understanding of departmental business and deliverables, exercise initiative and judgement in the interpretation and application of policy to resolve service delivery issues. You will represent the department at various base meetings and forums with professionalism and confidence and recommend solutions and management strategies to whole-of-base operational issues.

You will be joining a high performing team where you will solve problems and provide service delivery with an engaging can-do approach, whilst demonstrating a solutions focus through excellence in customer service. You will work independently with reasonable autonomy and be accountable for achieving your deliverables.
