expansion, we are looking to welcome a dedicated Accountant who can help steer Core
Logistics through this next phase of growth and keep our financial engine running just as
smoothly.
Role Overview
The accountant supports the Director in ensuring the sound financial management of the
company through timely and accurate compliance, accounting and reporting. In helping
oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, the accountant plays a key part in
establishing and maintaining strong systems and controls.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake the day-to-day management of Core Logistics’ finance function, including
asset and chattel-mortgage schedules for trucks, side loaders, trailers and other motor-
vehicle equipment, ensuring funding arrangements remain optimised for business
growth.
- Advising the director on business planning, operational decisions, financial health,
investment planning, cost control strategies, regulatory compliance and record-keeping
requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and lodgement of BAS and all ATO-portal submissions,
meeting every statutory deadline with accuracy and full compliance.
- Coordinate annual insurance renewals, assess policy terms with insurers and ensure on-
time premium payments to safeguard the company’s fleet, warehousing and personnel.
- Manage full-function Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, maintaining
accurate records, healthy liquidity and clear audit trails.
- Provide monthly financial and operational reporting- including management accounts,
KPI dashboards and variance analysis- to support data-driven decision-making.
- Leverage financial data and insights to drive continuous improvement, efficiency gains
and strategic advantage across the business.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, producing scenario analysis
that underpins long-term financial stability.
- Undertake payroll processing and reporting, ensuring employees are paid accurately
and on time while adhering to tax legislation and company policy.
- Manage bank accounts, invoice-financing facilities and lines of credit, performing
timely reconciliations and ensuring covenant compliance.
- Conduct internal financial audits and maintain robust systems of internal control to
uphold compliance and accountability.
- Perform customer credit checks, set credit limits and monitor outstanding exposures to
minimise bad-debt risk.
- Oversee driver run-sheet cost allocation, verify trip claims, identify cost-saving
opportunities (e.g., route optimisation, fuel efficiency) and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure all key monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines are met.
Key selection criteria
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Accountant role, with professional accounting body
(CPA or CA) qualifications or equivalent.
- Extensive experience with management and financial accounting
- Fluency in Vietnamese and English
- Sound knowledge and demonstrated ability of relevant accrual accounting practices
- Experience in financial procedures including accounts receivable, accounts payable,
preparation of Business Activity Statements, and general ledger processing.
- Experience in payroll.
- A service mindset.
- High level of competency and proficiency in the use of accounting systems (Xero, Zoho,
Freight Tracker)
- Ability to prioritise and manage time in an efficient and proactive manner.
- A strong commitment to the professional growth of self and others.
- High level initiative and flexibility, with the ability to respond to the changing demands
of the position.
- Excellent attention to detail and accurate data entry skill.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to use initiative and problem-solve.
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification at Master’s level or higher in Accounting, Business Management,
or another related area.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or equivalent
membership.
