General Accountant – Finance Department

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our Finance Department. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain bookkeeping and accounting records in accordance with standard accounting principles.

Oversee accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.

Prepare and submit tax filings and Business Activity Statements (BAS), ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Document and continuously improve accounting processes by assisting in the formulation of budgetary and accounting policies.

Collaborate with vendors and customers to manage collections and payments, supporting healthy cash flow and minimizing credit risk.

Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes in collaboration with the Finance Controller and other key stakeholders.

Assist in budget development, tracking, and variance analysis, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Ensuring the integrity of internal control systems, safeguarding the accuracy and security of financial data.

Stay current with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and industry best practices, applying knowledge to improve financial processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Proven experience in a general accounting role with strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.

Hands-on experience in preparing financial statements and managing accounting systems.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.

Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
