About the role

Lakeside Banquet and Convention Centre is seeking an experienced Event Function Coordinator/Manager to join our dynamic team. This full-time role will be based in Taylors Lakes, VIC and will play a pivotal part in delivering exceptional events for our clients.

What you'll be doing

Coordinate all aspects of event planning, including venue setup, catering, staffing, and client communication

Liaise with clients to understand their event requirements and expectations, and deliver solutions to exceed them

Manage the booking and scheduling of events, ensuring efficient utilisation of the venue

Oversee the work of event staff, providing leadership and guidance to ensure flawless event execution

Viewing, sales and recommending ways to optimise efficiency and profitability

Identify opportunities to enhance the event experience and recommend improvements

Ensure all events comply with relevant health, safety, and legal regulations

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar event management or coordination role within the hospitality industry with a current RSA

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders

Strong organisational and project management capabilities, with the ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines

Proven track record of delivering high-quality events that meet or exceed client expectations

Thorough understanding of event planning, logistics, and budget management

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and provide leadership and direction to event staff

Familiarity with relevant health, safety, and legal regulations in the hospitality industry

Working week, Wednesday (9.00am - 8.00pm ) Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings ( 4.00pm - 1.00am ) with occasional changes in peak times
