Join a team that protects more than just heritage—our work ensures the safety and security of every person, place, and collection across our precincts.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
We’re seeking a skilled and solutions-focused Security Events & Systems Coordinator to lead and manage the delivery of security services across major museum events, exhibitions, and physical security systems. This multifaceted role blends operational leadership with project management, policy development, stakeholder engagement, and budget oversight.

Some of the key duties include:
Security Event Operations & Coordination
Oversee security staff and service delivery at public and private events
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures
Deliver staff training, monitor KPIs, and ensure shift alignment with broader operational objectives

Collaborate with the Security Operations Centre (SOC) Manager and project teams to manage asset lifecycle and system improvements
Incident & Risk Management

Recommend improvements to mitigate risks and enhance security practices
Financial & Contract Management

Liaise with contractors, integrators, and installers for events and ongoing operations
Maintain strong communication with internal departments to ensure security operations align with business needs
Hands-on Support
Support event operations on-site as required, including acting in a Security Guard capacity during peak or critical periods (outside normal business hours)
The successful applicant will have:
You are a confident coordinator who thrives on juggling complexity—security logistics, event support, stakeholder liaison, and budget oversight. You’re calm under pressure, skilled in systems and finance, and take a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
Certificate II in Security Operations and a valid Security Licence
Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence
Prior experience in event security coordination, rostering, and asset management
Experience in project management and physical security system upgrades
Experience working with financial systems (raising POs, managing invoices)
Strong communication skills and an ability to lead, train and support security staff
Proficient in Workplace, Magiq, Viva Engage and Excel.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and after-hours events
Ability and willingness to undergo and pass a National Police Records Check and Working with Children Check (applicant costs apply).
WHAT WE OFFER
A values-driven organisation focused on curiosity, inclusivity, and innovation
Opportunities to work across iconic cultural precincts and high-profile public events
