Purpose:
Coordinate, design and implement strategic safety training initiatives and workforce development programs that proactively address the compliance, safety, and capability requirements of Maranoa Regional Council. Provide robust administrative support, maintaining accurate records and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the HSEQ team's operational activities.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong written and administrative skills with high attention to detail and ability to proofread for completeness and accuracy.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
- Strong organisational skills, with the commitment and ability to work with minimal supervision and achieve outcomes within allocated timeframes despite conflicting pressures.
- Commitment to a team-based approach, with demonstrated ability to work within a team environment to achieve Council's goals and departmental work program projects and tasks.
- Well-developed computer skills in the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to quickly learn IT systems associated with the role.
- Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to Maranoa Regional Council's values and team goals.
- Previous experience working in local government or similar environments will be highly regarded but is not essential.
Qualifications and Licences:
To be successful you will need to demonstrate that you meet the below mandatory requirements for the role:
- Current C (Car) Class Driver Licence
- General Construction Induction (White) Card
- Possess or obtain qualification in Business Administration (or similar discipline); or, attained through previous appointment, service and/or study, an equivalent level of expertise and experience to undertake the range of activities required.
Position Details:
- Location: Roma, QLD
- Full-Time, Permanent Position
- Maranoa Regional Council Certified Agreement 2023 - Stream A - Level 5
