Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven knowledge of and experience in road and drainage maintenance and construction activities.
• Ability to read and interpret traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes.
• Proficient written skills to accurately complete relevant documentation, interpret maps and drawings, compile simple reports and collect and analyse data.
• Ability to follow direction and complete schedule of works within allocated timeframes to required standard.
• Ability to set priorities and manage time to achieve work program deliverables despite conflicting pressures.
• Good verbal communication, listening and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise at all levels both internally and externally
• Commitment to a team-based approach, with demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within a team environment to achieve Council's goals and departmental work program projects and tasks
• Ability to safely operate and maintain mobile plant including an understanding of plant capabilities, limitations and maintenance requirements.
• Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to Maranoa Regional Council's values and team goals.
• Previous experience working in local government, construction/maintenance or similar environment will be highly regarded but is not essential.

Qualifications and Licences:

To be successful you will need to demonstrate that you meet the below mandatory requirements for the role:

• Current C (Car) Class Driver Licence
• General Construction Induction (White) Card
• Verification of Skills Level to Competently Operate Mobile Plant

Desirable Qualifications and Licences:

Although not mandatory, the below qualifications and licences are considered beneficial to the role:

• Current HR (Heavy Rigid) Class Driver Licence
• Traffic Management Implementation Training
• Certificate III in Civil Construction – Road Construction and Maintenance (or equivalent)

• Maranoa Regional Council Certified Agreement 2023 - Stream A - Level 5
