Animal Aid is looking for a Social and Engagement Coordinator to help us share the stories that matter, build our community, and make an impact for animals every single day.

About the Role

· Create, schedule and publish content that connects with people and strengthens our brand.

· Tell true, moving stories from adoption updates and events to fundraising campaigns and community activations.

· Use all the tools, photos, reels, video, stories, live streams, to keep our audience engaged across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and any new platforms that suit our mission.

· Monitor our channels, chat with our followers and keep the tone on-brand.

· Support our fundraising and communications team to ensure our messaging is strong, integrated and effective.

· Lend a hand with community fundraising and on-the-ground activations to get our supporters involved.

· Track and share insights on how we’re performing and always look for fresh ways to grow.

· Help out at events and jump in wherever you’re needed, we’re all in this together.

About You:
We are looking for a dynamic coordinator who will bring:

Key Responsibilities:

· A genuine love for animals, people and telling great stories.

· Hands-on experience managing social media channels.

· Basic design skills, you’re comfortable with Canva or Adobe Suite.

· Excellent writing skills with an ear for clear, engaging, audience-friendly copy.

· Strong people skills, you build trust and connection easily.

· A valid driver’s licence

· A positive, collaborative energy and a willingness to try new things.

· Develop, produce and schedule engaging content that grows Animal Aid’s reach and strengthens brand awareness, fundraising, community engagement and service promotion.

· Ensure all content aligns with Animal Aid’s Mission, Vision and Values, maintaining brand integrity.

· Create and share a variety of content, including but not limited to: event updates, appeals, adoption stories, fundraising campaigns, community activation's, partner features, and human-interest pieces.

· Implement Animal Aid’s Social Media Strategy across multiple formats — interviews, videos, reels, photos, stories, and live content - tailored for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and emerging channels as relevant.

· Monitor and moderate interactions across social channels, responding to comments and messages promptly and with care.

· Work with the communications team to support campaigns and ensure integrated messaging.

· Assist with community fundraising and on-site or online activation's, helping generate supporter engagement and income.

· Provide regular data and insights on reach, engagement and growth, using tools such as Meta Business Suite, Insights, or similar analytics.

· Maintain agreed KPIs relating to content frequency, reach and engagement.

· Attend and assist at Animal Aid events as required.

· Provide general administrative support and undertake other department tasks as directed.

Essential Criteria:

· Proven ability in a similar role with minimum 2 year’s experience.

· Formal tertiary qualification/s in Communications, Marketing, PR or similar.
