The opportunity
Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for an APS5 and an APS6 Provider Engagement Officer to assist with a range of Engagement, Communications and Project pieces to help support Providers in delivering positive outcomes for NDIS Participants.
12-month initial Labour Hire contracts with the opportunity to extend. APS5 level role offering $55.24 hourly + Superannuation, APS6 offering $60.26 + Super hourly. The APS level to be determined based on level of experience.
This is a hybrid position offering 2 days working from home, with the remaining 3 on site. 37.5-hour work weeks. These roles will be based in Geelong.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Drafting and/or providing input of content for internal and external publishing and distribution. (including website content, frequently asked questions, and supporting artefacts)
- Working closely with internal and external key stakeholders including providers, carers, people with a disability, mainstream organisations and other government agencies to address local provider challenges, including provider exits.
- Engaging providers to ensure optimal satisfaction is experienced at each interaction.
- Supervising and developing staff at lower classification levels, assisting in building team capacity through leading, coaching and feedback.
- Managing risks associated with stakeholder relationships through a proactive approach.
- Supporting the development and promotion of resources that enable sector development and improves the Agency's understanding of the provider environment and experience.
- Drafting and/or providing input into ministerial and parliamentary correspondence, reports and briefs.
- Undertaking project management and evaluation of provider engagement approaches.

- Stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Ability to have difficult conversations with challenging stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills for sector and government audiences.
- Problem solving to proactively resolve issues and conflicts.
- Sound judgement, decision-making and governance skills.
- People management skills.
- Project experience.
- Prior experience in Communications, Disability, Health Care or Government highly advantageous.
