Key Responsibilities
As a Retail Manager, you will:
Oversee daily operations of the fuel station and retail outlet to ensure seamless functionality.
Manage financial operations, including budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
Monitor inventory levels for both fuel and retail stock, ensuring timely reordering to meet customer demands.
Address and resolve customer complaints, ensuring exceptional levels of customer satisfaction.
Oversee the maintenance and safety of the facility, including regular inspections of fuel pumps, convenience store equipment, and overall cleanliness.
Prepare and analyse operational reports to identify trends, optimize processes, and improve profitability
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including fuel handling protocols and emergency procedures.
Handle cash management, including daily reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with company cash-handling policies.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and ensure compliance with regulations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and securing competitive pricing.
Lead and manage staff, including recruitment, rostering, training, and performance evaluation.
Train staff on customer service best practices and operational procedures to uphold quality standards.
Collaborate with the marketing team to implement loyalty programs and promotional campaigns tailored to local customer preferences.
Develop and maintain community relationships, promoting the business as a trusted local service provider.
Actively participate in strategic planning for business growth and innovation to stay ahead in the competitive retail market.
Qualifications and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Management or a related field.
Experience: At least 2-3 years of proven experience in the retail industry, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Sound financial acumen and experience with budgeting and financial reporting.
Exceptional customer service and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in managing inventory and supplier relationships.
Adaptability to a fast-paced environment and multitasking abilities.
