The Position

Showcasing our stock in stores across Australia, we are now seeking a Showroom Manager (Retail Manager) for our Richmond store in Melbourne, Victoria.

Managing all elements of store operations including budgeting, stock control, staff, marketing, security and safety, you will contribute to business growth through knowing your target client base, maintaining aesthetically pleasing floor displays with appropriate mix of stock and ensuring staff provide excellent customer service.

What you’ll be doing

Tasks will include:

Opening and closing store

Selecting appropriate furniture for display in the showroom

Maintaining records of stock, availability and delivery times

Identifying opportunities for promotion

Networking and building relationships with architects and designers and supporting supplier visits

Advising customers using knowledge of design aesthetics, assisting with custom orders

Driving the team to achieve the set budgets both personal and showroom.

Explaining attributes of furniture to customers and closing sales

Liaising with warehouse and logistics to ensure timely deliveries

Preparing monthly budgets, recording transactions and reporting monthly

Training and supervising sales staff

What we’re looking for

Candidates should have the following:

- Diploma or higher qualification in business, retail, sales or similar or equivalent experience

- Minimum three years’ experience in retail environment including experience in sales of luxury items including furniture

- Experience in managing all elements of a retail store including staff, stock, customer service

- Strong understanding of interior design and aesthetics

- Knowledge of European luxury furniture brands, materials and fabrics

- Excellent communication skills

- Highly organized and able to maintain records on various computer-based systems

- Ability to us NetSuite POS system preferred.

For a full time (40-hour) week we are offering a salary of $78 000 + super.
