The Information Management Officer's position is part of the Digital Information and Data Archiving Team within the Data Program's Data Governance Section.
The Information Management Officer will work as part of a small team to deliver internally facing services which support staff in managing data and information as records to meet business requirements, customer needs and external compliance obligations. The focus is on compliance, which in turn ensures the Bureau's key records remain findable, accessible and re-usable for as long as required.
The team also oversees the Bureau's process for the disposal of records under the Archives Act 1983 and are the custodians of the Bureau's extensive paper, audiovisual and object archives dating back to the 1800s.
The Information Management Officer will support the uplift of enterprise information management capabilities and assist the Digital Information and Data Archiving Team Lead and the wider Data Governance team with:
- data and information management planning and initiatives;
- advice, guidance, issues management and other support for Bureau staff;
- development and implementation of procedures, processes, guidelines and tools;
- access to and preservation of the Bureau's historical physical archives; and
- other related data and information governance tasks and projects as required.
To be successful, you will need:
- demonstrated understanding and experience of information management and the lifecycle management of digital and analogue records;
- well-developed analytical, writing, communication and stakeholder management skills;
- a formal qualification in information management and/or equivalent relevant experience; and
- experience with SharePoint and Content Manager or other similar EDRMS (highly desirable).
