About the position:
Join the award-winning* Capital Works team at the Parliament of NSW as a Project Manager. Responsible for managing and coordinating the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of complex capital works projects, your role will be focused on achieving project outcomes and supporting the achievement of organisational objectives for NSW Parliament and its 98 Electorate Offices.

This position manages all aspects of the project management lifecycle including, but not limited to, scope, design, project planning, resource management, budgeting, high-level stakeholder engagement, reporting, governance, risk management and supporting project-related activities. It would be your responsibility to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope in line with the established project management methodology.

Based in NSW Parliament, the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is a specialist service department working to support the operation of the Parliament of NSW by providing logistical support and advice to members, the Departments of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly and the people of New South Wales. About you:
You are an experienced project manager who has successfully delivered capital works projects, managing all aspects of project planning, development and delivery involving multiple stakeholders, strict timelines and limited budgets

  • You have experience or knowledge of construction, particularly commercial and/or heritage
  • Ideally, you have experience working in NSW Government agencies, and/or familiarity with NSW Government GC21 & MW21 contracts including processes and procedures
  • A valid Driver’s Licences and willingness to travel within NSW

  2. Describe a complex capital works project you managed where you were required to maintain high quality standards while working within strict timeframes and budget constraints. What strategies did you use to manage these competing demands, and what was the result?
