About the Role
Our Blue Mountains Branch Infrastructure Team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer to lead a team of Project Officers and deliver an infrastructure renewal and upgrade program. The Senior Project Officer ensures performance is maintained to a high level by building skills and capabilities and implementing performance management as required.
The Senior Project Officer is responsible for planning, designing and delivering infrastructure projects including renewal and upgrades of walking tracks, lookouts, roads, fire trails, picnic and camping areas, works depots, short stay and office accommodation. The role also coordinates geohazard remediation works.
Based in the Blue Mountains Branch in the Katoomba or Blackheath office, this role works across the broader Blue Mountains Branch including Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage parks, Gardens of Stone, and Abercrombie and Wombeyan Caves.
About You
To be successful in the role you will have extensive experience in managing consultations and negotiations with diverse stakeholders with varying expectations, viewpoints and interests, within agreed timelines.
You will have the demonstrated ability to achieve project deadlines and milestones to the required standards and within budget and be able to simultaneously coordinate and deliver multiple often complex and interconnected projects.
With good communication skills you will have the ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships to facilitate ongoing consultation, communication, negotiation and issues management and their optimal engagement and contribution in project development and delivery.
Essential Requirements
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience.
- Project management skills and experience with an understanding of contemporary best practice in procurement, tendering and contract preparation, in managing project teams, consultants and contractors, and in applying environmental safety and risk management policies and systems.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and reviewing strategic plans, policies and programs, and in providing strategic and operational advice and recommendations to senior management.
