Are you an experienced Practice Nurse with a passion for leadership and a commitment to excellence in primary care? We're looking for a Nurse Manager to join our team and take charge of clinical operations, staff management, and quality patient outcomes in a busy, collaborative healthcare setting.
About the Role
As our Nurse Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing a diverse nursing team, working closely with GPs, admin staff, and the leadership team. You’ll oversee daily operations, drive continuous improvement, and support your team’s growth — all while maintaining high clinical standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
🏥 Lead and Inspire:
Provide leadership and day-to-day management for a team of 20 Practice Nurses. You’ll oversee key clinical service areas including:
Treatment Room operations
Chronic Disease Management (GPMPs & Health Assessments)
Infection Prevention and Control
Immunisation and Vaccine Clinics
Cold Chain Compliance
Accreditation readiness and delivery
đź—“ Workforce Planning:
Take charge of nursing rosters and shift allocation, ensuring effective coverage across 10 shifts per day while maintaining team balance and patient care continuity.
🩺 Deliver Clinical Excellence:
Support hands-on care delivery with your own clinical expertise — from wound care and ECGs to urgent care assistance, pathology collection, and patient health education.
đź”§ Drive Improvement:
Review and refine clinical workflows and protocols to increase efficiency, enhance safety, and improve patient outcomes across the board.
📚 Build Capability:
Champion ongoing professional development by delivering internal training sessions and supporting external learning opportunities for your nursing team.
📊 Report & Review:
Provide regular, clear reporting on nursing operations and contribute to performance reviews in partnership with the General Manager.
What You’ll Need
Current AHPRA Registration as a Division 1 Nurse
Experience in general practice or a similar setting
Proven leadership and management capabilities
Excellent knowledge of GPMPs, health assessments, and chronic disease care
Strong time management, organisational, and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with Best Practice software (preferred)
A warm, confident approach and commitment to patient-centred care
A valid Working with Children Check and a current Police Check (or be prepared to obtain)
