We are currently seeking an Assistant Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join our team of ANUM’s . Reporting to the Operating Suite- Nurse Unit Manager, you will contribute to the health outcomes of your patients through excellence in practice, fostering a learning culture, excellent communication skills and working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
The Role
This rewarding opportunity will see you join Maryvale Private Hospital as an Assistant Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM): Operating Rooms
Working in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff to efficiently deliver care based on best practice principles within a collaborative framework.
Our ANUMS share leadership responsibilities and each hold a dedicated portfolio specialisation.
You will help ensure the operational performance of the Theatre and will be influential in creating a respectful culture where interdisciplinary team members collaborate effectively for positive patient outcomes and professional growth.
Role available from .6 to F/T across Monday to Friday
About you
An outstanding Assistant Nurse Unit Manager candidate will have:
Registration AHPRA as Nurse Division 1 with a minimum 5 years experience
Minimum three years experience in peri-operative setting
Experience successfully managing multiple stakeholders across a range of levels
Demonstrated experience in managing clinical projects and leading quality improvement initiatives
Essential Criteria:
Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skills and competence in best practice peri-operative nursing
Be highly accountable and demonstrate a strong, supportive and engaging style
Be passionate about patient care and achieving high quality clinical outcomes
Knowledge and experience with quality improvement processes and NSQHS National Standards accreditation requirements.
Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills including effective negotiation and conflict resolution.
Demonstrated ability to build effective teams and work well with interdisciplinary staff
Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills that foster a positive workplace culture.
Ability to develop positive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external customers.
Be innovative and adaptable to change processes
Proficient skills in Microsoft Office suite
Motivated to take responsibility for a portfolio (1 x Endoscopy portfolio currently vacant. Other portfolios can be tailored to your expertise).
Desirable Criteria:
Recognised tertiary management qualifications or working towards same, and evidence of recent professional development to further enhance leadership and management competencies.
Current acute peri-operative nursing experience within Private Health sector
Endoscopy expertise would be beneficial
