About the Role
The Nurse Unit Manager is a key leadership position in our Cancer Services, providing leadership to the CDU nursing team, including SURC, Apheresis and CC@H, the role is integral to ensuring staff, patient safety and wellbeing. The CDU NUM will promote the professional standards of nursing practice, while managing the operational resources of the chemotherapy day unit.
Classifications for this position will range from NM11 - NM12 ($126,074 - $130,509.60 per annum pro rata)
Duties
- Promote specialised professional standards of cancer care
- Manage operational resources in alignment with our organisational objectives, policies and procedures
- Review systems/processes, implement changes as required
- Ensure speciaslsied cancer care is safety provided to our patients
- Lead and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as an ANUM / NUM in a chemotherapy day unit or oncology
- Leadership qualities with proven ability to direct enthuse and encourage a multidisciplinary team
- Exceptional clinical and operational skills with a solid understanding of budget planning, preparation and management
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and drive change
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated financial management and project management skills
About the Department
The Chemotherapy Day Unit (CDU) is a fast paced, dynamic environment providing treatment to patients with cancer. As a 21 chair outpatient department, the CDU also encompasses the Apheresis Unit, Symptom Urgent Review Clinic (SURC) and Cancer Care at Home (CC@H) programs. Across all of these programs, there is more than 11,000 episodes of care each year .
