As the Purchasing Officer you will ensure the efficient supply of goods as required through liaising with current and prospective local Suppliers. Working with our experienced team, your duties will include:

Working with internal and external stakeholders to determine procurement/purchasing needs.

Quality execution of all regular purchasing duties and administrative work.

Sourcing, selecting and negotiating for the best product packages in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries and services

Order forecasting/Purchase order generation/Purchase order maintenance/overdue orders review and follow up

Developing effective forecasting based on historical demand and stock trends to reconcile variances and improve forward forecast accuracy

Maintaining and updating product ETAs and keeping track of supplier backorders

Maintaining complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing in the system.

Monitoring and co-ordinating deliveries of items to ensure that all items are delivered to the warehouse on time.

Expediting of orders.

Preparing supplier reports and low stock level reports.

Preparing and maintaining purchasing records, reports and price lists

Reconciling and/or resolving value discrepancies

Applying and maintaining knowledge of company purchasing procedures and applicable purchasing legislation.

As the successful applicant you will have;

The ability to analyse data used to develop plans & schedules for inventory requirements

Proven experience with purchasing

A good understanding of supply planning principles

High level communication and administration skills both written and verbal

Applicable tertiary qualifications (advantageous)

Advanced computer skills (Internet, Outlook, Word and Excel)

Familiar with Attache Software (advantageous)

Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with ability to work in a team environment
