Role Overview: The Purchasing & Stock Control Officer is a pivotal role in maintaining optimal inventory levels and operational efficiency. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong negotiation skills, and a solid understanding of procurement.
Key Responsibilities (not limited to):
· Manage purchasing activities including preparing and processing purchase orders, liaising with international and local suppliers as well as logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
· Maintain accurate product records and documentation.
· Collaborate with internal and external teams to forecast purchasing needs and manage stock levels effectively.
· Monitor, evaluate and maintain accurate and supplier performance and negotiate optimal terms.
· Investigate and resolve supply chain issues such as backorders, delays or pricing variances.
· Track and report inventory turnover, slow moving stock and collaborate on product lifecycle initiatives.
· Monitor stock levels and manage replenishment through demand planning tools (Netstock, Fishbowl).
· Customer service support where required, such as processing of customer sales orders and enquiries.
· Setting up stock with our external business partners.
· General office tasks where required.
What We’re Looking For:
· Previous experience (2+ years) in a purchasing/procurement role.
· Good, kind, ethical human being with solid communication skills.
· Excellent organisational abilities, time management and attention to detail.
· Familiarity with ICT products, services, and suppliers advantageous.
· Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office, CRM and inventory system.
· Relevant qualifications in business, procurement, or supply chain management or experience with Netstock will be highly regarded.
· A proactive, problem-solving attitude with a continuous improvement mindset.
· Ability to analyse data, forecast demand, and manage timelines.
