About Plumber’s Choice:

Plumbers Choice is a trade only supplier of plumbing goods to Plumbers across all of Australia. Our goal is to change the way plumbing goods are sold in Australia, to a trade only industry. Plumbers Choice has a solid growth plan in place to see our staff numbers double as we continue to build new distribution centres in order to satisfy our growing customer portfolio.

The role:

Based in Smithfield and reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the management of Plumbers Choice inventory through the effective use of purchasing systems and procedures. You will engage with a wide range of suppliers, both domestic and international, and communicate regularly with internal departments. This is a full time position, 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Duties:

• Run demand and supply plans
• Order stock (local and importing purchasing)
• Manage work orders
• Arrange transfer orders
• Assist the Warehouse Manager to plan for and execute stocktakes
• Resolve and reduce out of stock scenarios
• Manage supplier back orders
• Coordinate special order items
• Communicate key ETAs to internal departments
• Liaise with shipping brokers for the import of goods
• Manage inventory for import items
• Keep operations DIFOT system up to date
• Handle all supplier price list actions
• Manage supplier PO v invoice variances
• Record keeping and reporting
• Warehouse duties during busy periods.

• Previous experience in purchasing is essential
• You are highly organised and self motivated
• Highly process driven
• Effective communicator
• You maintain a strong focus on the best interests of the business
• Knowledge of the transport industry and freight management processes
• A knowledge of plumbing supplies is beneficial but not essential
