About the role

You’ll be responsible for the full bookkeeping function and play a key role in supporting our finance operations. This includes:

Managing end-to-end invoicing across both recurring retainers and ad hoc project work

Ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments and managing client communications around accounts receivable

Reconciling accounts and overseeing accurate data entry into MYOB

Maintain billing schedules across ongoing projects

Working with our directors on cash flow analysis and forecasting

Preparing financial reports (P&L, cash flow, aging receivables, project profitability reports)

Implementing process improvements across billing, reporting, and collections workflows

Supporting the leadership team with financial insights to help guide commercial decision-making

Liaising with our external accountants, tax advisors, and compliance consultants as needed

Driving best practice and automation across finance systems and tools

Identify, assess, and manage risks to the success of our finance processes

Your skills and experience

5+ years' experience in bookkeeping, finance administration, or accounts in a professional services or digital/agency environment

Strong knowledge of invoicing cycles, especially in mixed recurring/project-based revenue models

Confidence with collections and debtor management. This is a key part of the role

Proficiency with MYOB accounting software

Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement

Great written and verbal communication, comfortable chasing payments or advising on process

Experience working closely with cross-functional teams (PMs, sales, operations)

Strong attention to detail

Proven flare for verbal and face to face communication rather than sitting behind written communication all the time

Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing skills, and the ability to adapt these to a diverse range of stakeholders

Proven capability in formal writing via correspondences with numerous parties

Experience liaising with senior stakeholders
