About the Role
We are seeking applications for the part time role of Payroll Specialist. This is an essential role ensureing prompt and accurate end-to-end payroll processing, reporting, and system administration. To ensure queries from managers, employees and other stakeholders are resolved in a timely and efficient manner. This role reports to the Payroll Manager.
In this role you will:
Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring that the weekly payroll deadline is met whilst maintaining data integrity within the payroll system.
Ensure correct payments are processed for employees as required under the respective Awards and Agreements including annual and long service leave and termination payments.
Confidentially investigate, analyse, action, and respond to manager and employee queries and complaints, escalating to management as necessary.
Interpret and provide guidance on salary and wage enquiries, penalty and overtime conditions and allowances, in line with contractual requirements, applicable Awards, and QPAC’s Enterprise Agreement.
Calculate superannuation contributions and taxation payments, ensuring details on new and existing members are processed.
Maintain and administer the payroll system and associated procedures and guidelines, including interaction with HR and rostering systems.
Process payments for Workers’ Compensation Claims.
Liaise with external bodies such as QSuper, RemServ, and the Australian Taxation Office.
Provide payroll information to management as required including weekly and monthly payroll reports, and monthly reconciliation reports for Finance.
Act as payroll subject matter expert and assist in the implementation of HR-related systems as required.
Work closely with the Human Resources team on payroll related matters and systems, providing advice as required.
Backup as System Administrator for HR-related systems, such as rostering and payroll systems.
Comply with and implement applicable legislation, codes and policies including anti-discrimination, EEO and workplace health and safety legislation
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for:
Demonstrated end-to-end payroll processing experience in a complex organisation.
Demonstrated ability to interpret, process, and explain industrial instruments and complex payroll related matters for a variety of internal stakeholders.
Experience working with computerised payroll and rostering systems.
Demonstrated customer service approach, articulated through advanced communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Intermediate to Advanced skill in Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word and Excel.
