Project Manager – Commercial Fitout

About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Project Manager to join a growing team specialising in high-end commercial fitouts. The role will oversee the end-to-end delivery of multiple projects simultaneously, Valued up to $20m. You’ll lead a motivated construction team, driving successful outcomes across time, budget, and quality while contributing to a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

Role Purpose

This role takes full ownership of project delivery post-award, ensuring the vision developed during pre-construction is executed effectively. You will be client-facing, delivery-focused, and responsible for leading internal teams while managing external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Planning

• Oversee the planning and execution of fitout projects from start to finish.
• Review and interpret design documentation to proactively identify potential risks or clashes.
• Establish and monitor project milestones to ensure timely and successful delivery.
• Manage trade letting and supplier engagement with a focus on value and relationship-building.
• Suggest construction efficiencies and cost-saving strategies where appropriate.

Financial Oversight

• Manage project budgets and report financial performance with accuracy.
• Drive profitability through effective procurement and financial control.
• Forecast project cashflow requirements and manage payment claims both upstream and downstream.

Quality & Safety

• Set clear quality and safety benchmarks for your team.
• Ensure compliance with WHS and quality systems through regular site audits.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and champion continuous improvement onsite.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead project meetings and communicate key decisions and actions clearly.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment across business functions.

Team Leadership

• Lead project teams including Contract Administrators and Site Managers.
• Provide mentorship, performance feedback, and support professional development.
• Ensure the wellbeing, motivation, and retention of team members.

Operations & Reporting

• Participate in business reviews and planning meetings as needed.
• Contribute to client retention and repeat business through excellent service and delivery.
• Maintain accurate project reporting to support operational decision-making.
