About the role

As an IT and Digital Project Manager at Academic Group, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of strategic IT and digital initiatives that support the organisation's objectives. This is a contract role based in Applecross, Western Australia.

What you'll be doing

Manage the end-to-end delivery of IT and digital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards

Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, develop detailed plans and monitor progress

Provide technical guidance and support to ensure on-time project delivery

Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing appropriate contingency measures as needed

Communicate project status and key milestones to stakeholders, escalating issues and proposed solutions

Continuously look for ways to improve project delivery processes and drive innovation

Provide hands-on support and guidance to project team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment

What we're looking for

Excellent project management, with a strong track record of delivering successful IT and digital projects

Strong understanding of Laravel, including previous project development and management experience using Laravel framework

Experience with REST APIs, authentication, queues, migrations, and Laravel Artisan CLI

Proficient in PHP, MySQL, and modern backend architecture

Comfortable with testing frameworks, version control (Git), and deployment pipelines

Ability to debug, refactor, and scale Laravel apps

Solid experience in Wordpress custom themes, plugin development, and optimisation

Experience managing web hosting (cPanel, Plesk, or cloud like AWS/GCP)

Experience working with or implementing an LMS (like Moodle, Canvas, LearnDash, or custom Laravel LMS builds)

Can integrate or migrate content, manage user flows, roles, analytics, etc.

Bonus: experience with SCORM, xAPI, or edu-sector compliance (e.g. accessibility, data privacy)

Excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop detailed project plans, track progress and manage resources effectively

Proven experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and dependencies

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
