About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join our team full-time, based in Bundaberg. This vital position provides efficient, timely, and effective administration support to the Health & Safety Business Unit. You will deliver excellent customer service, manage health & safety information and records, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role is key in promoting and facilitating health, safety, and wellbeing, and strengthening our safety culture. Travel is required as part of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient administrative support to the WHS Team, including managing the shared email inbox.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate Health & Safety records and documentation.
  • Monitor compliance registers and follow up on due dates for ongoing adherence.
  • Complete relevant WHS reporting, including key monthly metrics.
  • Follow up with staff on reported WHS incidents and hazards to gather information.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct WHS inspections and other compliance activities.
  • Assist with developing, reviewing, and implementing WHS policies and procedures.
  • Support workers in formally reporting hazards and assisting with risk assessments.

About You

  • Proven ability to provide efficient and timely administrative support, with strong customer service skills.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and web-based applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective team and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Sound knowledge of current WHS legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and judgement skills, coupled with a proactive attitude.
  • Essential: Current Driver’s Licence, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and Working with Children Check.
