Administration Support Officer, Clerk Grade 3/4 – Tamworth – 12-month contract
- Be part of a small dynamic team working within the Zone Finance, Assets & Business Services (FABS) directorate to support SES volunteers and staff across the Northwestern Zone.
- Work in a volunteer-based agency supporting communities of NSW
- Full time - Temporary 12-month contract
- Up to $105,076.58 (salary + leave loading + super) + 15% field allowance and attractive leave entitlements
- Location: Based in Tamworth
About the opportunity
The Administration Support Officer (ASO) provides diverse business/corporate support services to Zone staff in areas that include finance, fleet, asset, and facilities. The role also assists the Manager Business Services to monitor and manage facilities requests, co-ordination of travel and events, assisting in audit functions, and zone vendor management.
The position responds to a variety of enquiries and issues from multiple stakeholders and ensures the provision of accurate information, and timely and effective solutions. It is also critical in collating information, appropriate recommendations to improve efficiency, cost management, and zone services.
The ASO is also part of a team supporting operations, which assists our communities during floods, storms and tsunamis, so the role will be required to participate in operational activity when required.

About you
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be a highly motivated individual with excellent communications skills.
- Be able to effectively coordinate multiple tasks to meet deadlines and plan and prioritise your workload.
- Be able to collect and compile information and prepare documentation in line with quality and organisational requirements.
- Have an ability to update and maintain records and databases, complying with administrative systems and processes, to ensure that all information is stored correctly, accurately and accessible.
- Respond to enquiries and escalate and redirect issues, to ensure the provision of accurate and timely information.
- Provide a range of administrative stakeholder liaison and logistical support services.
- Remain professional in challenging situations and promote effective solutions.
Essential requirements
- Demonstrated experience in the use of the full range of Microsoft Office applications
- Thorough knowledge of AIIMS principles and processes, or willingness to obtain competence within 12 months

We are a volunteer-based organisation that provides emergency assistance to the people of NSW 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. It is the approximately 9,000 volunteers across the state that make this possible. NSW SES Volunteers come from all walks of life, bringing with them many different skills, interests and backgrounds. They are united by the purpose of supporting their communities in times of need.
