We are recruiting exclusively on behalf of a well-established, people-focused organisation with a global presence. They are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to take ownership of payroll operations across multiple regions. About the Role

Based in stunning offices in the Sydney CBD (with 2 days working from home), you'll oversee and execute payroll operations across multiple global regions. You'll work closely with the Management Accountant and report directly to a fantastic Group Financial Controller who values accuracy, efficiency, and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing and managing payroll for 6 entities and working closely with junior payroll officer.
• End-to-end payroll processing, including deductions, allowances, and expenses
• Preparing and submitting reports for Superannuation, Payroll Tax, and PAYG lodgements
• Ensuring compliance with local and international employment laws and regulations
• Handling payroll-related inquiries and liaising with external payroll providers
• Managing payroll journals and coordinating month-end and year-end processes
• Maintaining accurate and confidential payroll records
• Supporting onboarding, offboarding, and leave management
• Updating payroll policies and identifying process improvements
• Participating in payroll and HR-related projects

What You'll Bring

• Experience using Employment Hero (very nice to have, not a must)
• Intermediate Excel skills - including manual data corrections when required
• A proactive mindset - someone who enjoys chasing data and solving payroll puzzles
• Strong understanding of awards, EBAs, and overtime calculations
• Demonstrated multi-region payroll experience
• Excellent attention to detail and hands-on problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Comfortable working closely with Finance and HR teams
• Ability to multitask, adapt, and work independently
