Assistant Farm Manager

Join this dynamic business in a full time position as Assistant Farm Manager with a leading Western Australian agricultural enterprise. Featuring a major seedstock cattle operation focusing on black cattle genetics and high rainfall mixed grain crop operation. This role blends farm management, hands-on livestock work, machine operation, data management and leadership skills.

The successful applicant will become part of a dynamic team leading key cattle and cropping operations.

Duties include;

Maintaining the highest animal welfare and health standards of the cattle herd.

Planning the production and marketing of seedstock, commercial cattle and grain crops.

The growing of multi species grain crops and the breeding of seedstock cattle producing bulls and weaners for an expanding market and assisting in the sale and delivery of livestock and grain.

The production of high quality pastures and fodder crops for the cattle enterprise.

The growing of high value grain crops in a high rainfall environment.

The day to day management of general farm activities, including seeding, fertilising, monitoring, harvesting of crops and fodder and livestock management.

Overseeing the integrity of the farm infrastructure, machinery and water supply.

Recording of all farm activities with a focus on maintaining and evaluating production performance, asset management and supervising business performance.

Be responsible for training and supervising staff.

Skills and experience required:

Bachelor’s degree in agriculture.

Cattle handling and health monitoring.

Proficient Bovine Artificial Insemination technician.

Experience in crop, pasture and fodder management.

Experience with modern machinery operation and farm data systems.

Experience in maintaining modern farm machinery.

Livestock data collection and management.

Experience with GPS guidance systems.

Experience in management of staff.
