Hours and roster

You will enjoy a wide range of flexibility in this role and working in a fully supportive team that work together to ensure the work is complete to a high level.

• 38 hours per week (enjoy flexible start and finish times)
• Monday to Friday, then Monday to Thursday - work a 9 day fortnight
• Work from home 2 days per week (required to be in the office on Tuesday and Thursday)

The role

Reporting into the Finance Lead and being supported by a team of 7 financial accountants, you will enjoy taking on a role that will involve working in a team and autonomously. Your primary focus will be to look after all financial activity and accounting within the New Zealand business. Around 20% of your time will also be spend working with the team on other financial activity within the Australian business. Duties will include, but bot limited to;

• Month end accounting, including accrual accounting and accounting for prepayments
• Preparation of general ledger reconciliations
• Journal preparation
• Accounting for fixed assets
• Accounting for inventory
• Liaising with accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting team
• Provision of accounting advice to other business divisions
• Preparation of BAS and FBT returns for review by tax team
• Liaising with the Business Control team
• Participation in external audit activities
• Other ad-hoc projects, reporting and tasks as and when required

Your value

To hit the ground running and provide immediate value to the team you will come to the role with the following skills and experience;-

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or a similar field
• Recent experience in heavy industry is highly regarded (such as mining or construction)
• Working towards your CPA/ CA qualification (if not already completed)
• Ability and confidence to take on a role of this nature with autonomy
• An analytical thinker and ability to problem solve and dive deep into the detail with accuracy
• Advanced excel skills with strong IT capability with accounting software
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Highly organised, dedicated to the role and able to work to deadlines
