Contract Accountant | 6-Month Remote Opportunity

We're partnering with a fast-growing Australian distribution business seeking an experienced Company Accountant for a 6-month contract. This is a fully remote role, ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working with autonomy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day financial operations including reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end close
• Prepare accurate financial reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Oversee BAS, GST, and other statutory compliance requirements
• Support external accountants with year-end accounts and tax submissions
• Maintain and improve financial controls, processes, and documentation
• Provide financial insights to guide business decisions during a period of high growth

About You:

• CPA or CA qualified (or near completion)
• 5+ years' experience in a similar company accountant or senior finance role
• Comfortable working remotely and independently, with strong time management skills
• Confident across MYOB or similar cloud-based accounting systems
• Exposure to wholesale, retail, or product-based businesses is highly regarded

Contract Details:

• 6-month initial term, with potential for extension
• Competitive daily rate (commensurate with experience)
