We are currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join us in our Adelaide office, providing both internal and external financial accounting for all of Australia.

This role is on a temporary contract basis until the end of November (with the possibility for extension). We are looking for someone for an immediate start.

About the role

Reporting to the Company Accountant, the Accountant provides support to the wider ComAp business by performing general accounting work. They will apply standard accounting techniques and practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions for the business, with a particular focus on order management and accounts payable and receivable.

Key Responsibilities

Process external invoices, internal reimbursements and corporate card expenses - addressing internal and external queries relating to these as they arise.

Accounts payable and receivable.

Process customer receipts in the ERP system.

Complete daily bank reconciliations.

Process weekly payments and refunds utilising a variety of different payment methods.

Process fortnightly payroll and post relevant entries.

Place all orders and manage the procurement of stock and materials.

Complete accounts processing tasks accurately and within expected time periods.

Ensure that accounting records abide by financial regulations.

Assist the Finance Manager with end of month and end of year reconciliations and processes.

Process taxation submissions, including Goods and Services Tax, Fringe Benefit Tax, Business Activity Statement and other taxation related matters.

Assist with balance sheets and P&L analysis.

Maintain a fixed assets register.

Adhoc accounting tasks as they arise and as directed by the Company Accountant or Managing Director

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following key requirements:

Tertiary qualification in Accounting (or equivalent).

Australian residency with unrestricted work eligibility.

Minimum 1 or more years' experience working in a similar role.

Understanding of standards of accounting.

Experience using ERP systems.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products - particularly Excel, developing spreadsheets and utilising pivot tables, formulas and charts.

Knowledge of regulatory standards, including Australian payroll legislation, taxation environment and accounting principles.
