As a Pastry Chef at C’est Du Gateau Bakery, you’ll be immersed in a creative, fast-paced environment where precision and passion meet. You’ll be responsible for crafting high-quality baked goods while ensuring smooth daily operations and upholding the bakery’s reputation for excellence.

What you'll be doing

1. Baking and Production

Mix, knead, shape, and bake a variety of breads, rolls, buns, pastries, and other baked goods.

Measure and prepare ingredients according to precise recipes using scales and measuring tools.

Apply glazes, toppings, or decorative finishes to enhance product presentation.

2. Equipment and Safety

Set oven temperatures and monitor baking times.

Maintain cleanliness and ensure safe operation of kitchen equipment.

Perform regular equipment checks and cleaning in compliance with health and safety standards.

3. Quality Control and Inventory

Inspect and ensure raw materials meet quality standards.

Adjust recipes as necessary based on stock or special orders.

Order and receive supplies to maintain optimal inventory levels.

4. Customer Service and Coordination

Prepare, package, and serve customer orders with efficiency and care.

Coordinate baking schedules to ensure timely production and product availability.

🍰 Key Responsibilities

Pastry Production: Prepare a variety of pastries, cakes, tarts, and viennoiserie from scratch using premium ingredients.

Finishing & Presentation: Decorate and glaze products with finesse, ensuring they meet visual and taste standards.

Recipe Execution: Follow established recipes while contributing ideas for seasonal specials and new creations.

Ingredient Management: Measure and mix ingredients accurately, monitor stock levels, and assist with inventory control.

Equipment Use & Maintenance: Operate mixers, ovens, and pastry tools safely; maintain a clean and organized workstation.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow chefs and front-of-house staff to coordinate production and ensure smooth service.

Quality Assurance: Conduct regular checks to maintain consistency and uphold hygiene standards.

Qualifications and Skills

Formal baking or pastry chef qualifications, supported by a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen or bakery setting

Proven expertise in baking and pastry production, with a meticulous attention to detail and presentation standards
