A bit about us
The Business and Technology Group delivers the corporate functions which support the organisation by providing Human Resources (HR), finance, ICT, and accommodation services.
The Human Resources teams provide internal client service and support for workplace relations, workforce reporting, recruitment, payroll, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, work health and safety, and staff performance.

About you
We are seeking an HR professional with strong experience in reviewing and drafting HR policies. You will have excellent writing skills, a high level of experience in providing HR advice to managers and employees, and the ability to work independently with limited guidance in a team environment.
This role may also include helping with the AIHW’s reporting function, such as co-ordinating the institute’s response to Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) reporting and APS Census results, and other ad-hoc reporting tasks. As such, strong Excel skills will be highly valued.
As this is currently a non-ongoing opportunity, we are seeking someone who can commit to an initial period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
Duties of the role
The main duties of this role include:
- reviewing or developing HR policies and guidelines to ensure alignment with the AIHW’s Enterprise Agreement and relevant employment legislation.
- reviewing or developing HR policy communications, including fact sheets and intranet content.
- co-ordinating employee consultation on policy updates.
- assisting with the AIHW’s reporting function, including Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) reporting and co-ordinating the agency’s response to the APS Census results.
