About the position:
The Strategic Infrastructure Officer supports the Project Delivery & Engineering branch and the broader Infrastructure Services Department. The role focuses on reviewing strategic plans and asset management data to guide long-term infrastructure renewal and investment priorities. Responsibilities include managing project nominations, preparing multi-year capital works and renewal programs, and producing the Capital Works Program Report. Additionally, this position serves as a key liaison between asset custodians, managers, and service providers. Other tasks may include supporting asset management activities such as data collection, infrastructure inspections, risk assessments, and reporting. Furthermore, the role assists with the maintenance of the City’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Key accountabilities:
Coordinate and prepare infrastructure strategies and plans to support growth planning of the City’s infrastructure.
Coordinate the project initiation phase of all capital works projects and renewal programs requiring engineering input.
Develop a multi-year capital works priority list, for both new and renewal projects, for endorsement by Executive Management Team and Council.
Prepare project nominations for new road, drainage, and path, recreational and urban scape asset classes, with the ability to plan basic project scopes, preliminary budgets, identification of issues and subsequent resolution/addressing of them.
Analyse project as-constructed data, specifications and costs to develop a suite of infrastructure estimating rates for use in the preparation and review of project nominations.

Position requirements:
The successful applicant will ideally hold a degree in technical, project or commerce discipline and relevant experience or have lesser qualification with significant relevant experience. Additionally, have extensive experience in preparation of multi-year capital works programs as well as sound knowledge of community infrastructure planning, delivery and asset management principles and practices.
Applicants who have comprehensive knowledge, skills and extensive experience in a similar role but do not have formal qualifications are encouraged to apply.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
A salary range between $102,015 - $114,135 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications of the successful candidate as it relates to the requirements of the position.
