To create a centre for excellence in transport infrastructure delivery, Main Roads and Public Transport Authority (PTA) major project teams came together under one roof to collaborate and share their expertise to deliver our projects effectively and efficiently.

The Office of Major Transport Infrastructure Delivery (OMTID) is seeking proactive and detail-oriented Business and Project Support Officers to provide vital administrative, project, and procurement support across a range of major transport infrastructure initiatives. This role plays an integral part in the smooth delivery of high-profile projects by supporting project teams with tasks such as, coordinating meetings, managing correspondence and ministerial, processing invoices, preparing reports and ensuring compliance with HR and training procedures. The successful candidate will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and support various office functions including vehicle coordination, onboarding and offboarding, and office communications.

The role also includes procurement and contract administration, assisting in the preparation contract documentation, records management and monitoring incoming and outgoing contract correspondence. The position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, project-focused environment, enjoys working collaboratively, and brings strong organisational and communication skills to support the efficient delivery of infrastructure projects that benefit the wider Western Australian community.

About You!

To excel in this role, you should possess:

Demonstrated experience providing high-level administrative, secretarial, and procurement support in fast-paced project environments, with sound knowledge of contract administration and corporate policies.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities, including identifying trends, resolving issues, and contributing to continuous process improvements.

Excellent organisational skills, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities independently, meet deadlines, and support the broader project team effectively.

We currently have four permanent positions available, along with several fixed-term roles for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal and/or permanency. Some of these positions will be based within Main Roads business services team and project teams. Applicants found suitable through this process will be placed in a pool and may also be considered for similar fixed-term or permanent vacancies that arise over the next 12 months.

To be eligible to work within government you must be either an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident or hold a valid work visa with permanent working rights in Australia at time of application for Fixed Term opportunities.
