Victoria University (VU) is seeking a dedicated Senior Officer, Student Financials and Scholarships to provide high-quality support and expert advice across student fees and scholarships in both Higher Education and TAFE. About The Role:
The Senior Officer, Student Financials and Scholarships plays a key role in administering student fee processes and a wide range of scholarships across Higher Education and Vocational Education. The position ensures compliance with relevant policies and regulations. The position provides customer service and expert advice to students and staff, and supports strategic initiatives to enhance financial accessibility and student success.
The position is currently located at the Footscray Park Campus of the University however will be required to attend all university campuses as required. The position and incumbent may be relocated to any other existing or future University work locations where it conducts its operations
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering timely and accurate advice to students and staff across financial matters and scholarships
Administering scholarships, prizes, and grants—equity and merit-based—ensuring smooth and compliant processes
Supporting assessment panels, selection processes, and communications of outcomes
Maintaining student financial records, policy documentation, and contributing to compliance and audit readiness
Collaborating with internal departments and external stakeholders to streamline processes and drive improvements
About You:
You're known for your precision, people-focused service, and ability to thrive in fast-paced, process-driven environments. You combine strong analytical skills with empathy and clear communication—especially during peak periods.
To be successful, you’ll have:
Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
Experience administering student lifecycle processes and financial systems in tertiary education
Sound knowledge of student information systems, financial aid processes, and compliance requirements
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and reporting tools
Desirable attributes include direct experience in administering scholarships and familiarity with education sector frameworks.
