About the role
Mater at Home is seeking a dynamic Service Improvement and Innovation Officer (Project Manager – Health Services) to join our team on a full-time, 12-month maximum term basis at our South Brisbane campus.
The Service Improvement and Innovation Officer is an individual who provides expert consultancy and leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of innovative models of care across Mater at Home, with a particular focus on remote patient monitoring and Hospital in the Home (HITH) services.
This role plays a pivotal part in the development and delivery of Mater at Home’s Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) system, including its clinical design, governance, implementation, and ongoing evaluation. The officer will also lead and support the implementation of the strategic initiatives identified in the recent HITH Strategic Review, ensuring alignment with Mater’s broader goals of service excellence, digital innovation, and patient-centered care.
Salary range: $70.32 - $75.47 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Working in close partnership with Mater at Home’s leadership team, clinicians, and consumers, the Service Improvement and Innovation Officer drives continuous improvement in health service delivery. They champion co-design methodologies, digital health integration, and evidence-based practice to transform care delivery and improve patient outcomes.
The successful applicant will demonstrate high-level clinical knowledge, a strong understanding of digital health technologies, and a commitment to safe, person-centered care. They will be a key contributor to Mater’s strategic direction in virtual care and service transformation, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical redesign, service improvement, and project implementation in acute, community, or virtual care settings.
- Strong understanding of remote patient monitoring technologies, virtual care models, and digital health platforms.
- Proven ability to lead and manage complex projects, including stakeholder engagement, governance, and evaluation.
- Expertise in co-design methodologies and consumer engagement.
- Expertise in change management, program implementation and program evaluation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify inefficiencies and develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across disciplines.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, safety standards, and quality improvement frameworks.
- Ability to work autonomously and contribute meaningfully to a diverse and evolving health service team.
About you

- Tertiary qualification or equivalent in clinical specialty (working towards is desired)
- Postgraduate qualification in one of the following areas:
- Demonstrated experience in leading or contributing to clinical service redesign and quality improvement initiatives.
- Implementing or managing remote patient monitoring or virtual care models.
- Applying co-design methodologies in healthcare settings.
- Using digital health tools, such as telehealth platforms, mobile health apps, or data analytics systems.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage complex projects, and drive change in a healthcare environment.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, safety standards, and clinical governance frameworks.
- High-level interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels.
- Capacity to work harmoniously with others in a team.
