At New Heights Youth Outreach, we deliver dynamic adventure therapy group programs, 1:1 outreach, and disability support to young people aged 10–17 and young adults 18–30 who are navigating complex challenges such as trauma, disability, and other disadvantages.
We are currently seeking Outreach Support Workers to join our growing team to co-facilitate outdoor therapeutic programs, provide 1:1 support, and walk alongside young people in their journey toward stability, resilience, and growth.

Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate and co-facilitate group-based outdoor therapeutic programs
* Provide 1:1 outreach support in the community
* Build strong, trust-based relationships with young people
* Support participants with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
* Implement trauma-informed, person-centred approaches
* Engage in conflict resolution and crisis support when required
* Maintain accurate reporting and adhere to safeguarding practices

About You
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has experience working with vulnerable young people, particularly those with trauma backgrounds and/or disabilities
* Demonstrates strong relationship-building skills, connecting through their passions, hobbies and interests
* Can work with a team or independently, leading outdoor groups or 1:1 adventure activities
* Has experience in conflict de-escalation and crisis intervention, remaining calm and collected while managing complex social interactions and behaviours.
* Is flexible, reliable, and passionate about seeing young people thrive
* Thrives in active, outdoor settings and is comfortable with physical activity
* Has the ability to support young people in in-home settings also, assisting with personal growth, daily routines and capacity-building goals.

Essential Requirements
* Working with Children Check (NSW)
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* National Police Check
* First Aid and CPR Certificate
* Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
* Availability to work flexible hours (including weekends and school holidays)

Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* Certificate or diploma in Youth Work, Community Services, Disability Support, Outdoor Leadership, or similar
* Experience with adventure-based activities (e.g. hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, fishing, canoeing, and other outdoor activities)
* Background in therapeutic or trauma-informed practice
* Understanding of NDIS and support frameworks
