Elliott Clarke & Co Pty Ltd – a trusted name in Australian textiles – is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / HR professional to join our small, friendly team.

Position description:
Bookkeeping & Accounts
Daily banking, statement reconciliations & allocating payments
Posting creditor invoices and arranging payments (including BPay & direct debit) as well as overseas foreign payments
Preparing Excel breakdowns and shipment posting
Fortnightly payroll processing & journals
Monitoring and following up on overdue accounts
Assisting and responding to customer and supplier account queries
BAS calculation & lodgement of payroll tax, commissions & monthly management reports
End of month, EOY rollovers, reconciliations and debtors statements
Annual and monthly tasks: payroll tax, WorkCover, FBT schedules, insurance renewals for all states
Budget preparation and input
Preparation of year end accounts for external auditors
Human Resources
Coordinate recruitment, onboarding and inductions
Support managers with performance appraisals and training needs
Maintain HR records and ensure compliance with HR policies and legislation
Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture
What we’re looking for
Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables)
Flexible approach to hours, especially around month-end and year end deadlines
Ability to work independently and manage priorities
Knowledge of Micronet (advantageous but not essential)
Professional, friendly and detail focus
Minimum 4 years experience in bookkeeping/accounting role with HR responsibilities
Current membership with Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) or similar professional body
Must have permanent right to work in Australia
