Live Streaming Operator – Entry-level & Experienced

Canberra, ACT | Casual, average 38 hrs/week | $38–$48/hr depending on experience

We’re on the lookout for up to two technically minded, calm-under-pressure individuals to join our growing live streaming team. You’ll be helping to deliver high-quality livestreams across Canberra from intimate weddings and funerals to larger corporate, community, and government events.

We welcome applicants with experience or a strong passion for related fields — including film and media production, audio engineering, photography, videography, AV technology, theatre, or live event production.

Whether you're starting out with enthusiasm or arriving with a wealth of experience, we’ll provide the training and ongoing support you need to thrive.

About the Role

Most of our events are managed using up to five compact wireless camera kits controlled by iPads, complemented by discreet wireless audio. These are typically one person jobs where you’ll need to be organised, composed, and confident with technology and troubleshooting.

For larger or more complex events (e.g. ceremonies and corporate conferences), you’ll work as part of a team using our more advanced range of equipment — including Canon cinema cameras, Blackmagic vision equipment, and professional sound / display systems.

As the majority of our work is funeral and wedding based, you will also need a high degree of discretion, emotional intelligence, personal presentation and attention to detail.

This is special and meaningful work. You’ll play a vital role in helping families, communities, and organisations connect with loved ones and colleagues who can’t be there in person during times that matter most.

This role is advertised as a casual position of 38 hours per week but conversion to full time permanent can be negotiated at a later date.

Key Responsibilities

Transport, setup, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and pack down of livestream equipment.

Prepare graphics, media, and update webpages for upcoming livestream events.

Conduct site visits prior to livestreams to assess logistics and environmental requirements.

Build and maintain strong relationships with venues and vendors.

Contribute to marketing tasks such as content creation, social media, exhibitions, etc.

Maintain equipment: update firmware/software, care/repair and ensure constant readiness.

Video editing of recorded streams.

Admin tasks such as phone calls, taking bookings, and planning/scheduling.

Support ongoing improvement of workflows, checklists, and documentation.

What We’re Looking For

A passion for working with technology, with strong problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail, punctuality, and reliability.

Comfortable lifting/carrying equipment (up to 30kg).

A self-starter who can work independently and take initiative.

Friendly, articulate, and confident communicating with clients.

Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Pride in professional appearance and personal presentation.

A positive, can-do attitude and a good sense of humour.

Minimum Requirements

Current WWVP card (or eligible to apply).

Non-smoker (due to a shared studio environment and sensitive venues).

Up-to-date with vaccinations including flu, MMR, and whooping cough.

Basic knowledge of video/photography concepts (e.g. exposure, colour temperature, etc.)

Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.

Bonus Skills (Not Essential, But a Plus)

Ability to drive a manual vehicle.

Familiarity with live streaming platforms or workflows.

Experience with Apple Products, Adobe Premiere Pro/Rush, Photoshop, Canva, DaVinci Resolve, or Squarespace.

Employee Benefits

The latest Apple tech: iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, AirPods Pro.

Flexible work arrangements and variable hours (including WFH by agreement).

Bonus program based on annual performance and sales goals.

Free parking, located on a light rail stop.

Annual paid day off for your birthday.

In-studio coffee machine, drinks fridge, and snacks.

Regular team events and gestures of appreciation.

Access to training and industry events.
