About the Role – TSPV-Cleared Data Analyst

This role is more than crunching numbers — it’s about turning secure, complex data into insights that drive policy, security, and operational outcomes. You’ll be embedded in a multidisciplinary team alongside analysts, strategists, technologists, and government decision-makers.

In this role, you will:

Conduct deep analysis on large, sensitive datasets to extract actionable intelligence

Design and develop intuitive dashboards, reports, and data models for key stakeholders

Apply advanced analytics, forecasting, or statistical techniques to support decisions

Operate within TSPV-classified environments, ensuring data governance and integrity

Collaborate across multiple agencies and disciplines, bridging data and strategy

Present findings in clear, concise reports tailored for senior leadership and executives

You will be trusted to advise, inform, and influence, with data at the core of secure national priorities.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Criteria

TSPV (Top Secret Positive Vetting) clearance – must be active

Solid experience working as a data analyst, ideally in defence, intelligence, or federal government contexts

Proficiency with analytics and data visualisation tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar

Strong skills in SQL, Excel, Python, or R for data extraction, manipulation, and modelling

Ability to work full-time, on-site in Canberra

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with stakeholder engagement confidence

Desirable (but not mandatory)

Degree-qualified in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar

Experience using cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud

Prior work in classified environments such as defence, law enforcement, or intelligence

Understanding of security governance frameworks (e.g. PSPF, ISM)

Contract Details

Engagement: Full-time contract

Duration: Initial 12 months, with likely multi-year extensions

Workplace: On-site, Canberra-based federal agency

Security: Active TSPV required from day one (no sponsorship available)

Pay Rate: Highly competitive, based on skills and experience
