Welcome to Jimbour House
One of Queensland’s grandest and most iconic heritage properties, Jimbour House is where legacy, landscape and luxury converge. Built in the 1870s and set on a breathtaking estate in the Darling Downs, Jimbour is entering a bold new chapter as a premier destination for luxury weddings, high-end retreats, signature events and curated tourism experiences.
We’re searching for an exceptional, all-round leader to step into this next era with us — someone who can own the end-to-end events experience, lead teams with confidence, drive sales growth, and amplify our brand through dynamic marketing and social media.
About the Role
As the Weddings & Events Manager, you will be the driving force behind our luxury event offerings, from first enquiry to final execution. You’ll lead from the front, working closely with our clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure every experience reflects the charm, elegance and exacting standards of Jimbour House.
This is a rare and rewarding opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional who thrives on creating unforgettable moments and knows how to grow a brand with style, story and digital strategy.
Your Key Responsibilities
Weddings & Events Leadership
Own the full event lifecycle: from enquiry, planning and sales through to on-the-day delivery and post-event follow-up.
Lead the delivery of luxury weddings, corporate retreats, wellness getaways and large-scale tourism activations.
Be the primary point of contact for all wedding and event clients, from property tours to scheduling and coordination.
Create BEOs, run sheets, layouts, invoices and event documentation with precision.
Oversee venue set-ups, bump-ins, bump-outs and liaise with vendors and staff to ensure seamless delivery.
Be present, confident and calm on event days, leading from the front, solving problems in real-time, and creating magic for our guests.
Build and coach a high-performing events team that thrives on quality, consistency and energy.
Marketing & Social Media
Review social media content calendars alongside our marketing team.
Coordinate online campaigns with our designated social media agency to drive event enquiries and elevate brand visibility.
Collaborate with photographers, videographers, and creatives to produce compelling visual content.
Sales & Business Development
Convert inbound wedding/event enquiries into confirmed bookings through excellent communication and tailored proposals and hosting viewings.
Identify and pursue growth opportunities in corporate, wellness and tourism sectors.
Maintain strong relationships with key partners, including council, local operators and regional tourism bodies.
Work closely with the Head of Operations to drive forward Jimbour’s strategic vision.
Administrative & Venue Operations
Manage group bookings, site visits, invoices and calendar scheduling.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, RSA requirements and licensing conditions.
Support daily venue operations and guest service on non-event days.
Maintain a meticulous eye for detail and presentation across all spaces.
Who You Are
A natural leader who thrives in high-pressure environments and leads with calm, clarity and confidence.
An exceptional communicator who builds rapport quickly and authentically.
A creative, hands-on marketer who understands how to tell a story and grow a brand online.
An organised, solutions-focused operator with an obsession for detail and guest experience.
A warm, professional presence who loves hospitality and creating beautiful moments.
A forward-thinker who’s excited to be part of a growing, heritage-rich property rewriting its legacy.

5+ years in event management, weddings or luxury hospitality.
Proven leadership and team development experience.
Experience delivering weddings, retreats or events from enquiry to execution.
Strong venue operations knowledge, including vendor liaison and event logistics.
Marketing or social media management experience (preferred but not essential).
Excellent time management, attention to detail and written/verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Familiarity with CRMs, Canva or scheduling tools a plus.
Valid RSA and availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays if required.
Must be an Australian resident or hold long-term work rights.
