The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our leadership team. This is a pivotal role that offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the daily operations and strategic growth of a beloved Brisbane establishment. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and owners, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of service, fostering a positive team culture and enhancing the overall guest experience across our café, restaurant and diverse events.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Assist in the day-to-day management of all front-of-house operations, ensuring smooth service delivery across café, restaurant and event functions.
Team Management: Support the recruitment, training, supervision and motivation of front-of-house staff, fostering a high-performance and positive team environment.
Customer Experience: Champion exceptional customer service, actively engaging with guests to ensure satisfaction and effectively resolve any feedback.
Financial Acumen: Contribute to inventory management, stock control, cost management and cash handling procedures.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to all health, safety and liquor licensing regulations (RSA).
Event Coordination: Assist in the planning, setup and execution of private functions and events, ensuring seamless delivery.
Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve operational challenges with efficiency and professionalism.
Venue Presentation: Oversee the cleanliness, organisation and aesthetic appeal of the dining areas and service stations.
About You:
To thrive in this role, you will possess a genuine passion for hospitality, an unwavering commitment to excellence and a desire to grow within a supportive family business.
Proven experience (2+ years) in a supervisory or assistant management role within a reputable café, restaurant or events venue.
Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, including coffee, wine, beer and spirits.
Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification is essential.
Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with a proven ability to motivate and develop staff.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with both guests and team members.
Highly organised, detail-oriented and proficient in multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive problem-solver with a hands-on approach.
Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and evenings as required for operational demands and events.
