Position Details
- Full-Time, Permanent Position
- Classification: SCHADS Level 4 with a salary range of: $88,169 - $94,888; per annum + Superannuation
- Salary packaging arrangements providing tax benefits available for living and entertainment expenses increasing your take home income where part of your wage is paid tax free each pay, savings thousands in tax each year

About your new role
The Referral Coordinator- Lived Experience (RC-LE) draw on their own lived experience of distress, crisis, suicidality and/or suicide attempt and journey of healing to instil confidence and hope in others.
Guided by Intentional Peer Support (IPS) principles and the National Lived Experience Workforce Guidelines, RC-LEs provide person-led emotional, social, and service support through one-on-one peer support. In their work, they emphasise connection, mutuality and sharing power to support consumers to explore worldviews and move toward what is meaningful to them.
As well as purposeful use of personal lived experience, RC-LEs draw on the broader collective Lived Experience history and social movements to explore and understand the impacts of stigma, discrimination and systemic harm. RC-LEs play a vital role in continuous service improvement by integrating and elevating lived experience perspectives.

What you will bring to the role
- Personal lived/living experience of distress, crisis, suicidality and/or suicide attempt and journey of healing and ability to apply learnings as your primary way of working
- Experience (personal or professional) liaising with external service providers, including specialist mental health services, GP's and other community-based services and organisations. Strong emotional resilience including the ability to sit with discomfort, distress and people in crisis.
- Experience and/or understanding of working with people experiencing distress, with mental health challenges, suicidality and/or deliberate self-harm.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with partner agencies and organisations to strengthen community-based prevention and intervention initiatives.
- Ability to establish respectful professional relationships that have clear boundaries with consumers, staff and partner organisations
- Personal lived/living experience of recovery as a family, friend or carer. Your recovery experience may be related to mental health, suicidal crisis, drugs and alcohol use or trauma
- Willingness to identify or be identified by others as a professional with lived experience of recovery
- Willingness to share and draw on lived experience purposefully in the role to instil confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery
What the role requires
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (police check) - disclosable outcomes considered
- Current Working with Children Check - required before commencement of work
- Current Australian drivers licence and access to a car
- Australian working rights
